Notes on Form

Form is the foundation of design. Long before color or material comes into play, shape sets the tone. A curve invites softness. A line creates structure. A circle suggests wholeness, while an angle speaks of strength.

In our homes, these quiet gestures of form influence how we feel. A round mirror can expand a room with ease, while a sharp-edged plinth grounds it in solidity. By paying attention to shape, we invite balance, contrast, and beauty into our daily rituals.

When thoughtfully placed, forms also create dialogue. A tall, slender vase paired with a low, rounded bowl tells a story of tension and harmony. Just as in nature, contrast in shape keeps us engaged and present, it allows us to see the familiar with fresh eyes.

Form also connects us to memory. Architectural arches, sculptural vessels, and geometric patterns all carry history and meaning. By layering these into our spaces, we root our homes in something greater than trend—we invite timelessness.
